About Idyllic Tales
There are two things I grew up loving passionately – travelling and stories
They have both meant the world to me. Listening to the stories from my Dida or Maa, I could get lost in different worlds. And the travel bug runs in the family. My dad has been driving us through so many nights and through such routes that I still find them hard to believe. Watching tigers cross the road in the dead of night or crossing overflowing bridges in the rainy season, we have done it all in our childhood. No wonder, travelling holds such a special place in my life.
Still it never occurred to me, both of these things can ever be brought together. I never understood, why this blog never felt complete, even when i revamped it not once but twice. And then, one fine day, as I was wondering whether I should give up completely and close the blog, the thoughts just started to flow. I realized that travel means different things to different people. When I am trying to write in a way, I have read others write about their travels, it’s just not me. Maybe that’s why I do not like it myself. Then, I wondered, what does travel mean to me and what do I want to write.
And that’s when it struck me. Travelling for me is another form of a story. A long continuous one at times. And short, poignant ones at others. This is when I realized what I wanted my travel blog to be – an amalgamation of my two loves, stories and travels. Only when I reached this point, did I realize that this is what travel has always been to me. Small yet significant moments. Stories waiting to be told. Stories about places, about people that I meet in these places or maybe just the version of myself I meet in these places I visit. Stories that show life is not always perfect and whether or not everything goes as planned, there is always something to remember. This is what Idyllic Tales is about – little stories about my travels. Hope you like these!
